By law, Drivers license required if transporting people or goods across state lines for commerce.
USA operates on illegitimate laws.
This leaves MANY loopholes. ie you do not have to obey most of the laws in the USA as they are illegal.
Therefore you are free! (if you know which few laws you must obey)

Imagine having the freedom to say this: (and you do!)

Officer, I do not have a driver's license. I am not required to.
Officer, I do not have insurance. I am not required to.
Here is my proof of financial responsibility: a bond payable by the
Secretary of State. (Resulting from FDR selling us to the banks in 1933,
we now can pay off our debts, as we are each worth a million dollars to the US.)
(or print our bond to prove financial responsiblity in lieu of paying for car insurance)

Ever been to a site [perhaps news] and needed to register an email address
to access it? Ever been to a site like that and were uncertain of their
privacy policy? Ever registered, cleared your browser cache, then could not
remember your password and had to go through a whole "forgot password"
process?

Ever wanted to do away with spam in general? Wanted to never give away your
email address again in a form on a site?

Here are some resources, all free, that will assure you never have to deal
with that again.

This first one is an automatic username and password generator for site that
require free registration. You can drag the bookmark-let to your browser and
when you are at one of these site, click it and a JavaScript window will
open with a useable username and password someone else has contributed to
their database:

The rest are all receive only, disposable email addresses you can set up so

So, today I bought a hair product that I've been using for years, and for once actually read the ingredients on the bottle. I came across the ingredient, polyacrylamide, which we work with at my company.... AND IT CAUSES CANCER! I thought, holy crap, what is this doing in my hair product? So I did some research and found these websites about how thousands of the products we use everyday contain carcinogens, allergens, and other impurities that have adverse health effects. I never realized how widespread this problem is, and have decided to chuck a bunch of my products and use health-friendlier versions.... go here to see how your products rate....
http://www.ewg.org/reports/skindeep/browse_products.php
Also, go here to sign the petition to get these nasty substances out of the products we use....

Redefining Our Relationships
A RADICAL LOVE WORKSHOP
with Wendy-O Matik
Author of the book, Redefining Our Relationships- Guidelines for Responsible Open Relationships
$10 – $20, sliding scale
http://www.wendyomatik.com
This is a daring and provocative how-to workshop on radically defined relationships and alternative lifestyles. Wendy-O Matik talks about what she has lived and experienced: open relationships. She believes that open relationships reduce the hazards that accompany unhealthy co-dependency. Open relationships challenge us to confront our jealousy and possessiveness. Committing to a relationship not mapped out by our parents or society or Hollywood means tearing down the very foundation of status quo and conformity. It means redefining and rebuilding your own version of an alternative relationship based on your needs and your values.
Loving openly and freely in this day and age, whether you're straight or queer, is a political act. We are conditioned by out-moded social norms that limit our perceptions and shackle us to unhealthy cycles of dissatisfying relationships. Yet we live in a time where we can choose our own gender or redefine our own sexual identity. Isn't it safe to assume that we also have a right to decide what kind of relationship is more suitable to our lifestyle? Declare yourself a revolutionary activist of the heart. Find out how you can expand your potential to love, and radicalize your lifestyle!

# Thu, Mar 3 7-9pm Free. Berkeley
Cascadia Cob, the Healthiest Housing in the World
Ecology Center 2530 San Pablo Ave, near Dwight Way
Join us for a slideshow presentation about building houses and other structures from earth, using a technique called 'cob'. Also called monolithic adobe, cob is made from a combination of sand, clay, water, and straw, and is mixed by foot, and molded by hand. There are thousands of cob houses on every continent that were built hundreds of years ago, and are still standing to this day. The advantages to cob building are: you can build one by yourself for cheap; it's healthy for the earth, and healthy for humans; and best of all, you can sculpt the house into beautiful, funky shapes! And cob isn't only for people living out in the country -- all across the West Coast, people are reclaiming their urban spaces to create community-oriented places -- out of earth! Presenter David Sheen has been building structures from earth in the U.S., Canada, and Israel since 2001. He has apprenticed at the North American School of Natural Building with Ianto Evans, Linda Smiley, and Michael Smith, the pioneers of 20th century cob and authors of The Hand-Sculpted House. Currently, David is teaching cob building in the Bay Area and working to revitalize West Oakland with ecological and artistic place-making projects. Co-sponsored by Post Carbon Institute. (A hands-on cob workshop follows on Saturday, March 5.) Free.

# IRAQ FOR THE IRAQIS! Why you should support the resistance!
March 3rd @ 7pm Cesar Chavez Student Center Room C-116
The Iraqi resistance to US occupation is growing,
along with its support among ordinary Iraqis. This
resistance is not simply an isolated group of
"Baathist remnants" and "foreign fighters" as the Bush
Administration and other supporters of the US
occupation would have us believe. The Iraqi resistance
is diverse and includes a variety of people fighting
together against foreign occupation: Shia, Sunni,
secular, women, men, young, old, and all other walks
of life. Socialists support this resistance for the
same reason that the majority of Iraqis do - we want
the US troops to get out of Iraq now and leave the
running of Iraq to the Iraqi people themselves. Come
and participate in a discussion on this important question!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
You fasten the triggers
For others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion
As young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud
   How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's on thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do

WHAT: Playback Theatre is a form of theatre improvisation in which audience
members tell stories from their lives and a group of actors play the stories
back spontaneously with music. It was founded in 1975 (an outgrowth of
psychodrama), and is being used all over the world for entertainment,
community building, and the development of interpersonal skills such as
spontaneity, active listening, non-verbal communication, and LOTS more.
Playback can be comic or tragic or anything in between, depending on the
stories told by the audience.

WHO (facilitator): Mountaine lives in Asheville, NC, and is a founding
member of Asheville Playback Theatre. He has ten years? experience as a
Playback actor, musician, conductor, and trainer. He has a special interest
in nurturing the Playback skills of radical faeries and other unusual human
species, and is coming to the Bay Area in the hope that this weekend will
lead to the formation of an ongoing alternative Playback Theatre troupe. But
whatever happens, he intends to have way lots of fun. Contact him at
mjonas@madison.main.nc.us if you have any questions about the agenda.

WHO (participants): Formal acting training or experience is not required,
although it helps. What is most required is an open heart and a willingness
to listen carefully to the stories of others. There are no stars in
Playback; creating a successful spontaneous piece of theatre requires
extreme teamwork. If this resonates with you, we?d love for you to show up.

CONTACT: It would be great to know if you picture attending the entire
weekend and being in the public performance. If so, contact sinnergee at
(510) 652-6152, ext. 2 or sinrg2003@graffiti.net.

But feel free to just show up Friday night and check it all out. And if
nothing else, please come to the FREE Sunday 7:30 PM performance and bring
friends and (edgy?) personal stories to tell.

# Does Money Really Grow on Trees?:
The Economic and Social Benefits of the Urban Forest
By Kathy Wolf, Ph.D Research Social Scientist at the
College of Forest Resources, University of Washington

Ever wonder why tax dollars are spent on trees? Did you know that having trees on your property and along your street can increase your home’s value by as much as 6%? Or that most consumers report a preference to shop in stores surrounded by trees and will pay higher prices for goods at those stores?

Dr. Wolf, a leading researcher and lecturer in her field, has dedicated her work to the human dimensions of urban forestry and urban ecosystems. In addition, she is interested in the integration of scientific information in policy and planning. Dr. Wolf has worked professionally as a landscape architect and as an environmental planner. In addition, Kathy is interested in the integration of scientific information in policy and planning. # 11th Annual Urban Iditarod Sat Mar 5 Meet Noon; Mush 1pm
Free for All, execept Urban Diversion members

The barking is first heard somewhere across the tundra. Miles away, the dogs are already in a frenzy. Mushers whip their charges onward, and the lead dogs howl with pleasure. Terrified animals in the path of the race run for cover, as the teams come into sight.

The sleds crest the hill like an Army, and move onward to their goal. Howling teams charge with delight as they approach the first way point: A bar.

This event is under new management, expect half the effort, a third the fun, a fifth of bourbon. And we're not going to skip Caesar's no matter what the police say. Normally there would be a description of the Iditarod, but after 10 years already, fuck it. You already knew, or you didn't care.

On Saturday night March 5th, your burning friends from across the Bay will converge at SOMArts in SF to celebrate Burning Solstinox, the mid-point between burns. Do NOT miss this one - we’ll be halfway home. http://burningman.com

# Burning Solstinox: Connections – Sat Mar 5
8PM-4AM @ SOMArts, 934 Brannan St in SF
http://solstinox.com/
Once a year, on the midpoint between burns when we are farthest in time from any, we come together to celebrate Burning Solstinox - a holiday of hope, rebirth, love and the creative thrill of radical participation, when we experience playa joys in default. This year’s theme is “Connections”, and we invite you to create some by making magic with us in an amazing space. Don’t miss this one; we’ll be halfway home!
We do this all volunteer, totally non-commercial, and following the 10 Burning Man principles, so radically include yourself and participate. Help create an outrageous evening in a burning village that will keep that rocking playa vibe alive for another six months - there’s no better way to switch your psyche from its vault of dusty memories to new visions of chaos.
This year’s event is a FUNraiser benefit for Friends of Curtis, and we’ve lined up the area’s best DJ’s, dazzling lighting, insane lasers, eye-popping visuals, blacklit bars, super cozy chill spaces, and lots of special playa style amusements sure to please all your senses. Plus, a raffle & silent auction for one-of-a-kind burner gifts and experiences, and even free coffee when it’s time to go! Every bit of it gifted, by burners for burners. All proceeds go directly to saving this burning musician’s life and voice from cancer http://www.friendsofcurtis.com
$15.93 presale, $20 at the door. There’s no ATM; bring extra cash for amusements, bar & raffle.
For advance tix and info, visit http://www.solstinox.com email participate@solstinox.com to help!

expert.

A talk on Learning the art of neutrality when it comes to standing in the world of international
law, as a sovereign human being and taking full freedom and responsibility as a peace maker.
Marcia goes into Law history, including how the legal basis for law changed in the civil war; into
territory on the credit and debt system and how the government "borrows" money from the federal
reserve using our birth certificates as collateral; into the difference between substance and
credit - that you have both a real self and a commercial self; into the international commercial
code, which stands above the law of nations.

We are offering this class free of charge, by invitation only.

STANDING IN PEACE, HOW TO LIVE WITHOUT FIGHTING

An afternoon with Marcia Doerr, legal expert, educator

For 144 years, since Abraham Lincoln, the North American continent has been a nation "occupied"
by the expression of "war powers" and its resultant "commerce."

Let's discuss the implications of how that relates to YOUR life today.

* Learn how you can "choose" between being a debtor or a creditor

* Do you prefer to be a Sovereign or a Taxpayer (deal with the IRS)?

* Are you a Private or a Public "person"?

* Configure yourself to be a Traveler or are you a Driver? Guess which
 one pays traffic fines!

* The meaning of Honor/Dishonor in law (and in daily life).

* How do you find your Self and resolve the fundamental conflict when your heart wants Peace in a
world at war?

1665 Haight Street (at the corner of Cole) at the Red Victorian Peace Center B&B

Erik Marcus is one of America’s leading writers about animal agriculture. He is also the publisher of Vegan.com, a popular website devoted to animal protection and the vegan lifestyle. A highly regarded public speaker, Mr. Marcus lives in the Boston area.

Please join Erik Marcus for this special Bay Area appearance as he talks about his newest book:

Meat Market: Animals, Ethics, and Money

Every generation, a book comes along that reshapes society’s attitudes toward food. Meat Market is such a book, and it offers the most compelling critique of animal agriculture yet set to print. In his talk, Erik Marcus looks at the history of animal agriculture, and charts the decline of its ethical standards. Despite the worsening plight of animals, Erik’s message is hopeful and optimistic. He offers ideas and strategies to combat cruelty that can be embraced by meat-lovers and activists alike. He also shows how easy it is to fill your diet with delicious, healthy, and humanely produced foods.

Please bring your family and friends to learn more about MEAT MARKET. You may purchase copies of MEAT MARKET at this presentation.

Public Transit - 1665 Haight St near the #7, #71, #6, #43 Masonic buses. From East Bay Bart connects underground to N-Judah tram, exit Cole and walk 4 blocks.  For Cars - free street parking as it's a Sunday. There is also a paid parking lot four blocks from Red Vic at Stanyan and Beulah.

Mon Mar 7

# Mon Mar 7: 7pm "TALIBAN COUNTRY" with filmmaker & journalist Carmela Baranowska
New College Cultural Center, 766 Valencia St, SF
"This was an exceptionally courageous report and a wonderful piece of digicam journalism. Her reporting gave new meaning to the term embedded journalism and revealed the danger of only showing one side of the story."
- Walkley Awards Jury
In May/June 2004, Walkley-award winning investigative reporter Carmela Baranowska was embedded with U.S. Marines in one of the most dangerous and remote parts of Afghanistan, beyond the reach of UN and aid agencies.
Frustrated by the limitations imposed on what she could report, Baranowska decided to travel back to Oruzgon Province independently of the U.S. Marines and Afghan militia that she had journeyed with up to that point. Western media outlets reported her kidnapping by the Taliban; a 'fact' the documentary dispels.
More importantly, Baranowska's footage offers disturbing first-person accounts of the treatment being dealt Afghans by U.S. Marines in the war on terror and has led to the opening of two U.S. military investigations. For more info on the film visit www.talibancountry.com.
"She went back, unescorted, into Taliban country and got quite a different story of perfidy and brutality. That's courage and determination, and perhaps a lot of luck that she got out alive."
- The Australian

# Friday March 11trh, I'll be showing my Walk Accross America slideshow. It's been a while since i've put on this show -- not since 9 / 11, but  I think it's time to dust off the cobwebs and show a different side of Americana that few people living in urban America get to glimpse. So come on down and get a taste for a real life Forest Gump type of adventure. We''ll start promptly at 7:30pm. Hope to see you there.
Location - 889 Walker Ave (East Bay, near Grand lake Theater). On 580, take the Lakeshore Ave. exit, turn left on to Grand Ave, go two blocks, right onto Mandanna (7-11 on corner) and take the first left on to Walker Ave. hard to see 889, so look for 887 (in same building). Call if you need help 510-812-6313. Please RSVP if you can.

# The Irish Republican Socialist Committees of North America's San Francisco
Bay Area chapter will again be participating in the San Francisco St.
Patrick's Day Parade and is once again organising an Anti-Imperialist
Contingent as part of its participation.
The parade is taking place this year on Sunday, March 13th. While we never
have many details this much before the actual parade date, the contingent
will undoubtedly assemble between 10:45 and 11:15 a.m., somewhere south of
Market and, of course, details will be forthcoming once we know them.
The focus of the Anti-Imperialist Contingent this year will again be on
ending the occupation of Iraq and of Ireland, and the slogans we are putting forward are:
British and American Imperialism, Out of Iraq! Out of Ireland!
No War but the Class War!

Scratch Video – Revolution Remixed:
A post-modern call to battle, for our planet, for our communities, for our
freedom

Join us for a screening of three radical remixes of popular Hollywood movies
by local film makers. These brief, yet high impact culture jams address
globalization, 9-11, war on terrorism, the industrial military complex,
racism, consumer culture, business as usual, our disconnection with nature
in favor of technology, and more. After the film, there will be a
conversation between the film makers and the audience on the films, scratch
video, and local action in Oakland.

The Fellowship of the Ring of Free Trade (6 minutes)

Now, for the first time ever, the hidden prophecies of J.R.R. Tolkien's
classic epic, The Lord of the Rings, are decoded in this accurate re-edit of
Peter Jackson's blockbuster motion picture. Unknownst to many readers, The
Lord of the Rings - once thought to be merely a story of archetypal struggle
between good and evil - has been found to contain astute prophetic messages
about the impending crisis of capitalist modernity. The Fellowship of the
Ring of Free Trade includes subtitles of the decoded dialogues in
painstaking detail and the true identities that the story's characters
represent within the prophecy.

The Twin Towers (15 minutes)

This sequel to The Fellowship of the Ring of Free Trade explores post-911

# YLEM Forum: Art Enlivening Biology
Tuesday, March 15, 7:30 pm
McBean Theater, Exploratorium
3501 Lyon St., San Francisco, CA 94123
FREE, Open to the public and wheelchair accessible

Sponsored by YLEM: Artists Using Science and Technology
Contact: Trudy Myrrh Reagan,
trudymyrrh@earthlink.net, 650-856-9593

The YLEM Forum, "Art Enlivening Biology," features Jo Hanson, whose
work in combining art and ecology is legendary, Julie Newdoll, a
painter who combines diagrams of biologically active molecules with
images from mythology, and Jonathon Keats' "misapplications of science."

PROGRAM
Artists Restoring the Land
Jo Hanson is a long-time environmental artist, a curator, lecturer,
writer and advocate. Hanson will talk about her work and that of other
artists who try to restore the land. She notes that cold facts do not
produce environmental change in the economy and our personal habits
that are so urgent. "Such a paradigm change occurs in the heart, in
the presence of knowledge. It is the arts that key in the heart. The
rhetoric must be some version of a song of love."
Her alarm about the waste society began with daily cleaning of her
windy block of San Francisco in 1970. She began by making whimsical
sculptures from what she collected, then moved to larger efforts, like
a pioneer artist-in-residence program at San Francisco's waste
disposal company.
Along the Russian River, Hanson's work expanded to include
restoration of native growth, creek and creek bank rehabilitation.
Sadly, she learned that reintroducing native plants does not restore
the self-sustaining ecology it once had. Preventing new destruction is
paramount.
A former San Francisco Arts Commissioner, she has also advised the
Exploratorium artist in residence program and co-curated ecological
exhibitions at venues like the San Francisco International Airport.
She co-produces the Women Environmental Artists Directory, and serves
as art and ecology advisor for EarthLight Magazine  and the Bioneers
Conference.

Merging Myth and Macromolecules in Art
Julie Newdoll merges life sciences and mythology in her paintings.
She believes that biological systems and ancient cultures, their
myths, and legends, have evolved in similar ways; that they reflect
each other, and speak from our deepest roots. Inspired by nature on a
small scale, she incorporates the delicate images captured with a
microscope and structures of macromolecules such as DNA, RNA, and
proteins in her compositions.
Her artwork has been featured on numerous journal covers, including
such publications as Nature Reviews Genetics, and art publications
such as Art Business News. In 2005 her work will be shown at the New
York Hall of Science, and the Florence Biennale. She completed a
residency in the Czech Republic with the National Gallery in Prague.
Newdoll earned a B.A. in microbiology from the University of
California at Santa Barbara, and an M.S. in medical illustration from
the University of California at San Francisco.

The God Project
Jonathon Keats will discuss his witty 2004 work,"The God Project,"
featured on the cover of San Francisco Weekly and on KQED's March 2
Spark program. Is science an art? Is art a science? In this talk,
Keats will address these questions by telling about his forays into
genetics and neurology laboratories at UC Berkeley and UC San
Francisco. In "The God Project," he attempted to genetically engineer
God in a petri dish. He'll also describe "Brain Trust" (2003) and his
works that play with non-standard time and distance measurement. His
projects are "thought experiments" that rigorously misapply practices
borrowed from biology, chemistry, and physics (as well as law and
economics). Keats strives to take up where natural philosophy left off
- and to bring others into the process.
Jonathon Keats is a conceptual artist, novelist, and critic. His
conceptual art projects have been featured on the BBC World Service
and he is represented by Modernism Gallery. Additionally, Keats serves
as the art critic for San Francisco Magazine and a columnist for
Artweek.  He is the author of the novel The Pathology of Lies (Warner
Books), and the forthcoming Lighter Than Vanity (Eksmo). He has
recently been awarded fellowships  at Yaddo and the MacDowell Colony
